Mewburn Park is like a private property wedding, but it is all managed for you.
Let us look after the annoying parts of a private property wedding, such as marquee hire, bar staff, furniture hire, garden maintenance, power sources, toilets, clean up and rubbish removal. It’s all included in your venue hire.
VENUE HIRE + BEVERAGE PACKAGE and then add your caterer, from a selection of 5.
Your on-site venue coordinators, Julia & Adam are personally making sure your day runs smooth and all vendors are aligned. -
You’ll get exclusive use of the Estate Gardens, Clear-View Marquee, Stables & The Farmers Shed. We live in the Homestead.
Our utmost priority is an exceptional & personal service, with that your venue coordinator and all bar staff are included in the venue hire.

Mewburn Park prefers direct banking so that no one is paying unnecessary fees. If you would like to pay via credit card, we can arrange this. Transaction fees will be applied.
-
With weddings being booked so far in advance it is often impossible to fill a date within 12 months.
Cancellation will result in the loss of your booking fee, depending on time of cancellation.
> Cancelled 12 months out or more: Booking fee will be returned minus a $500 administration fee.
> Cancelled 6-12 months out: We retain all monies paid. Where Mewburn Park is being able to replace the Booking with another of same or similar value, all monies will be returned but for the $500 administration fee.
> Less than 6 months out: once your wedding is 6 months out, 100% of the venue hire is payable.
-
No, we don't allow this. The only people able to stay on-site are those who are staying in the Lakehouse.
Logistics
-
Bump in for vendor set up is 10.30am.
Bump out is either at night or next morning strictly between 8.30am and 10am latest.
Please make sure all items are removed and vendors/suppliers follow those timings and leave the premise clean with no rubbish.
-
No, that’s the advantage at Mewburn Park. Julia & Adam are both your Venue Coordinators, liaising with all suppliers, making sure everyone knows where to go and what is happening.
However, we highly recommend having a stylist to set up all the beautiful things you have planned for so long. A stylist will make sure that flowers and candles will be added to marquee last (due to heat) and can handle all things needing attention on the day (i.e heat, rain, hail, wind etc…). -
Yes you can, but please be reminded of the following:
10.30am access to the marquee (unless otherwise discussed)
and gardens. The marquee will be set up then with all your tables and chairs and potential hire items.
Factor in that catering will start setting up cutlery & crockery approximately around 1hr before your ceremony.
Please consider that due to the heat in warmer months, flowers and candles can’t be left in the marquee all day. -
Mewburn Park have selected some of Gippsland’s best caterers for you, so you don’t have to worry about it!

We also allow food trucks, please contact us for further information, rules and fees apply.
Please also get in touch if you are considering a caterer that fits your cultural cuisine, so we can check to make this happen for you.
-
Our liquor license allows for 130 patrons, however we can apply for an extension of license for larger guest lists.
The spacious marquee offers plenty of room for a sit down with max. 170 guests or a relaxed cocktail party with max. 200 guests.

On the Day
-
Yes, we better factor that in - it’s always good to have Plan B in place.
Please know, we are always working towards your dream ceremony location, but will have to make a call on your wedding day at around 12-1pm latest so we are all ready and set for an amazing ceremony. We specialise in making Plan B feel like Plan A!
If it does rain heavily, we are using the Old Farmers Shed to accommodate you and your guests for the most comfort.
If it’s a 50/50 chance of rain kinda day, we will set up the bar in the Old Farmers Shed, but will try to have your ceremony outside.
-
Yes! Your guests can park on premise, there are about 200 parking spots. Cars can be left behind over night (no responsibility is taken by MP), we kindly ask that they are to be picked up before lunchtime 12pm the next day latest.
-
There are no Uber’s yet, though there are taxis in the area, but we are in the country so they have limited availability on weekends.
Other options are: 13CABS services or Sale/Maffra Taxi service 0490 370 701
Our couples usually organise a bus for transport, offering their guests pick up and drop off. Our local bus services are in our list of recommended suppliers, which you’ll get after your enquiry with us.
-
Oh we love a furry friend, please feel free to bring your dog along for the ceremony and photos afterwards. Needless to say, dogs need to be supervised, on a leash and looked after (doggy bag) all the time. We kindly remind you that your dog needs to leave the premises before reception.
If you are intending to bring a horse, please be in touch so we can organise the logistics for it early on. -
Real flower petals for your ceremony are allowed, they look fabulous (large rose petals are visible the most and don’t end up stuck in your hair).
Biodegradable confetti, rice or confetti canons are not permitted.
Thank you for your understanding.
-
Yes, but only with a professional pyrotechnical and appropriate license and application due to the RAF regulations.
-
Yes, and they look amazing. Please use a sleeve, jar or vase so that no wax is dripping on our tables (extra fees for cleaning or replacing apply).
If you are using table cloths, then you can discuss with your stylist to use non sleeve tapered candles with a wide socket/candle halter. -
Yes, all guest must exit 30 mintues after the beverage package has finsihed. The last song is the same time as when the beverage package finishes.
Usually, the beverage package finishes at 11.30pm, the bus will be waiting then so all guests are out by 11.45pm/12am.
-
No, this is part of your venue hire.
We just require you to pick up your flowers, styling items and any other personal belongings the next day between 8.30am - 10am.
Hot Tip: ask your parents to grab the wishing well at end of night!
